To bury the dead...

Colm Gilchrist's gravestone in Old Dromid Cemetery - Co. Kerry, Ireland

Thank you for visiting my web page and for your interest in my novel being written as a part of National Novel Writing Month! In the grid below, click on the titles of the various chapters to read that chapter. It is best, naturally, to begin with Chapter One.

I truly hope that you enjoy this, but do remember that this is but a first and very rough draft. There are many mistakes in spelling, grammar, time sequence, and other important parts of the novel. However, the places and many of the names are real, as are many incidents that take place in the cemetery that Seamus Gilchrist becomes superintendent of. For instance, the photo above is labeled as the gravestone of Colm Gilchrist, Seamus' father. Actually, it is the gravestone of my great-grandfather, Martin Hallissey and it really is in Old Dromid Cemetery - Co. Kerry, Ireland.

If you have any comments or suggestions, I would love to hear from you. Please send me an email at opfriar@juno.com!

Enjoy!
