April 29th!!!

Page #1 of 5!

Today's highlight was visiting the Vatican Gardens. Our tour guide was a Father Kieran from Dublin, Ireland. He lived in the German College within Vatican City. Because he was our guide and because we were a private tour, we saw many things that otherwise tourists would never see. These photos cannot hope to capture all of the beauty of this magnificent area surrounding San Pietro's! However, I hope they convey some small feeling for the beauty and grandeur of the Vatican Gardens.

The home office early in the AM!

The corner rooms are the private residence of the pope.

This is one of the fountains of the Piazza San Pietro. Rarely, if ever, does anyone put soap suds in the fountain!

Fr. Luke is talking with his friends about the Mass that we will celebrate in a few minutes at the Altar of Saint Leo the Great.

This is the Chapel in the residence the Cardinals will use during the next conclave. It really is a lovely Chapel.

The Stations of the Cross are affixed to the Walls of Vatican City. Glass windows separate the Chapel from the Stations.

This is the outside of the Cardinal's residence during the conclave. Most of the time this building is used as a guest house for visiting dignitaries.

Fr. Luke & Fr. Kieran are walking towards the Vatican Gas Station! The school for the Vatican altar boys is to the left.
