Today's highlight was visiting the Vatican Gardens. Our tour guide was a Father Kieran from Dublin, Ireland. He lived in the German College within Vatican City. Because he was our guide and because we were a private tour, we saw many things that otherwise tourists would never see. These photos cannot hope to capture all of the beauty of this magnificent area surrounding San Pietro's! However, I hope they convey some small feeling for the beauty and grandeur of the Vatican Gardens.

This is the outside of the Cardinal's residence during the conclave. Most of the time this building is used as a guest house for visiting dignitaries. |
