May 1st!!!

Page #1 of 6!

This morning Fr. Luke and I took an early taxi to Saint Peter's for an early Mass. After Mass we had a cappuccino at a café near Saint Peter's. we then took a bus to the Piazza Navona and then walked to the Fontano di Trevi. Later, we had pronzo (lunch) with the community at Santa Sabina. In the evening Fr. Robert Christian, Fr. Luke and I took a bus to the Trastevere (across the Tiber) for dinner. Unfortunately, while the bus took us there, by the time dinner was finished the buses had shut down early so we had to walk all the way back to the Angelicum. Oh well, the exercise is good or so I am told!!!

San Pietro's in the early fog!!!

Getting ready for Mass in a very dimly lit Chapel of Saint Clement. (Just as I type this I can hear the bells of Saint Mary Major in the distance...a wonderful sound!)

Two gentleman from Australia came to the Mass and here I am giving them an anniversary holy card.

a few words of greeting.

They were kind enough to take our picture.

This is the Clementine Altar. This altar is closer to Saint Peter's grave than any other in the basilica.

This is the tomb of Pope John Paul I. I was ordained deacon the day he was elected.

These are some of the altar boys in the Vatican sacristy. When I return to the USA I have to make prints of this photo for them!
